Monkey Puzzle Orpington values the importance of parent feedback. We embrace what our families have to say and use this to constantly improve the care we provide and make our offering even better.

We also aim to create a community. Here are some key aspects of how we promote partnership with our parents:

Stay and play sessions: This gives parents a glimpse into their child’s daily life at the nursery and helps them understand our educational approach.

Settling in sessions: provide opportunities for parents to connect with the team and this child’s key person, learn about how their child’s development will be supported at nursery, and contribute to their learning journey, creating a supportive environment where every parent feels included and valued within the nursery setting.

Parents evenings: parents can chat with their child’s key worker to review their development and plan their child’s next steps together jointly, ensuring parents feel included and valued in their child’s learning journey.

Parent social events: parents join us for our Summer BBQ and Christmas party as we join together and appreciate these social occasions to be together.

September 2023

Following our recent Parent Satisfaction survey we are delighted to share with you that our brand new menus will be launched very soon!

Our super chefs have been working hard, and getting very creative, to re-vamp our menus and recipes with a range of multi cultural foods added and a reduction of sugary desserts, being replaced instead with a selection of fruit and yogurt. We are also going to be sharing photos of our meals on our Facebook page, so if you aren’t already following us, then please like our page to see what the children are enjoying at mealtimes as well as their learning experiences and lots more updates.

We have already reflected upon the children’s transition to school and the information we share with our parents around this. September 2024 will be here before we know it, and a lot of our pre-schoolers will be taking the next step in their learning adventures and going onto Big School.

We have created a leaflet providing dates and the steps parents need to take regarding looking for infant schools.

We are also changing the way we do our observations and stories. Stories will be stopping altogether, and you will have an observation each week, with ‘weekly snippets’ about what your child has been doing over the week.

We have also created an updated version of ‘Dates for you diary’ for Sept, Oct, Nov & Dec. We are holding a ‘Talk about it’ evening on Thursday 5th Oct here at nursery from 7-8pm, where myself, Shannon and Alice will talk you through our curriculum, planning, observations and any SEND concerns you might have around speech and language and behaviour.

We just wanted to say thank you to all of you who took the time to complete the survey for us, we are listening to what is being said to us and really value your input and suggestions.
