Welcome to Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Orpington, located at Rowan House, 64 Sevenoaks Road, Orpington, Kent BR6 9JL. Our nursery is located close to the High Street in the town centre and is only a short walk from Orpington training station, making us perfect for families working in the local area or commuting in and out of London.
Our Orpington nursery provides a nurturing home-from-home environment, for children aged 3 months through to pre-school age. With an emphasis on learning through play, our carefully selected team of practitioners ensure your child is cared for in a safe, secure environment with planned activities to keep them engaged whilst having lots of fun.
We have dedicated rooms for our various age ranges and each room reflects the seven areas of learning, as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage. All of our facilities are designed to be accessible to every child.
We are part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high quality childcare in our specially equipped nursery for children aged three months to five years old.
Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged 3 to 12 months, toddlers aged 12 months to 2 years and toddlers aged between 2 and 3 years old and lastly preschool aged three years plus. Due to our rooms being equipped especially for these ages, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.

This week saw 'Random Acts of Kindness' so our lovely Toddler's had a great idea and made some tasty biscuits which they wrapped up individually and headed off to Tesco to give them out to all the local shoppers.
They even got the delivery driver man to stop in his van so they could give him a biscuit too 🩷

Celebrating success ⭐️
Congratulations to our lovely Steph in our toddler room for celebrating 2 years service here at nursery.
She started in our pre-school before moving upstairs into our toddler room and is a great part of the team.
Steph has a heart of gold, is very artistic and creative and always has a smile on her face.
She has such a lovely rapport with the children and we think she’s pretty cool too! 🥰

This week's learning walk for pre-school took them off up to the high street to Iceland to buy different foods for their 'Around the world day' tomorrow.
They have chosen to go to India and are going to be tasting different Indian foods...photos will follow 😃
Along the way they were talking about electric buses and why they are different to non-electric buses, and the fact that they have windows "on the floor" so you can your feet.
Then they spotted the big crane "that could pick up the buses and drop them down".
Not only did they see the crane, but they heard the really loud digger "making too much noise" while the man was digging a big hole, and as a treat for the children, we stopped in our local charity shop and brought some new toys for nursery 🥰

This week Explorers wanted to share the love with the local community so they decided to visit St Christopher's Hospice UK which is just a 5 minute walk from nursery, so wrapped up in their coats and blankets they took their beautifully painted hearts with messages of love and positivity and gave them to the staff who work there (who happen to be 2 of our lovely Mummies from nursery 🥰).
The staff there were so warm & welcoming towards us and we can't wait to visit them again.

Discoverers have been so busy today making their own love potions using fruits, glitter (of course), food colouring, shampoo & conditioner, shaving foam, baby oil and of course what would a love potion be without sweetcorn...
The children enjoyed mixing the ingredients together to see what different types of love potions they could make, they had different textures and smells to mix together, and with their kind sharing skills being used, you could see the room was full of love 🩷
