Namaste, all the way from India. Explorers have focused on India for all around the world day. 🇮🇳
They began their morning with a trip into the local community to look at different indian takeaway restaurants and their menus, mulicultural convenience stores and then to Tesco’s to by some Indian delicaces.
The children loved looking at the different food products and selected what they would like to buy, they also smelt different herbs and spices to test their senses.
Then it was time to head back to nursery, ready to do some very yummy food tasting of popadoms, chutney, naan bread and other indian inspired sauces.

A shining star! 🌟 always smiling and super supportive 🥰
Investigators headed into our local community today to practice some road safety. They are also transforming their role play area into an Italian pizzeria, so their destination was the local Italian who very kindly donated us some pizza boxes to support their role play and they even let us take a sneak peak at their delicacies, which looked very yummy!
On their walk the children were very excited to spot different vehicles, they saw a dustbin truck, motor bike, police car, double decker buses but their favourite seemed to be the grabber truck.
Whilst crossing the zebra crossing the children sang their road song which reminds them to stop, look and listen. The children also loved pressing the button at the traffic lights and waiting for the beeping noise to let them know they can cross.

Learning Lab time:
Once a week we celebrate different themed days such as science experiments, story telling, cooking days and all around the world days.
This weeks themed day is 'All around the World'.
We would love for you to share some pictures to give us a sneak peak into different cultures, your favourite places to visit, family background, festivities, religious beliefs and much more!
We are then going to use the pictures to create special diversity books within each room that are personal to the children and their backgrounds.
The pictures may include you cooking a traditional dish from a specific Country or sharing a story together in a different language, anything goes but we would love to see a little insight into different worlds which make us unique.

Donna headed into Explorers for Monkey Chef this week and together they made some delicious jam tarts which they was able to enjoy for their dessert.
They helped using different utensils to roll the pastry before cutting it using their chosen pastry cutter. They then helped to scoop the jam into the molds ready to go into the oven and bake. They done an amazing job and the tasty treat was very well deserved.

Belinda was next up for the activity challenge, her chosen area of learning was expressive arts and design with her intent being to explore different animal footprints. (the activity caught the children's attention before Belinda was able to take a picture!)
Belinda created an 'On the Farm' display board and used the children's masterpieces to go alongside their interpretations of different animals they may see on a trip to the Farm.
The Babies loved getting messy, mark making using animal footprints and singing nursery rhymes as they designed. Their final outcome looked beautiful and very creative!

Explorers have had a little room transformation over the last couple of weeks. They have created a more spacious environment for the children to explore with more defined areas, they have created different heights for the children to play at to encourage cruising around furniture and pulling themselves up to play.
The children have loved their new room space and the special resources ready to investigate.
The room has created an engaging and challenging environment for the children to enjoy activities and has a hive of learning in the atmosphere. The staff also create such a nurturing and home from home aura.
There is still a few changes in the pipe line that we can’t wait to see.
